Is the treatment painful? 
 

This is a non-surgical treatment carried out with very fine needles, therefore, the treatment is largely pain-free. If you are uncomfortable with needles, then you may feel mild discomfort which is experienced due to the small needle injection involved however we use an insulin needle which is very fine, some do not feel the needle at all.

 

What is a Bo-tox injection & how does it work?

Bo-tox injections are a simple, safe, and effective way to eliminate unwanted facial lines & deep wrinkles as well as giving you a non surgical face lift. They work to relax facial muscles making lines and wrinkles, such as worry lines, crow's feet and frown lines, less obvious. The result is a softer, younger and more rejuvenated appearance.

How does the process work?​

​

Bo-tox injections are one of the quickest cosmetic treatments available at YLB. The treatment will involve a highly qualified aesthetician making a series of small injection of the Botox solution into the muscles of your face. For the body it is injected into sweat glands to eliminate excessive sweating. The injection process itself will only take a few minutes.

How soon will I see my results?

 

It normally takes at least 3 days to see any effect and 2 weeks for full results. A free review appointment is available at 2 weeks. Every client is different and will therefore see their results at different times. Your results will get better over time, this treatment creates subtle and natural enhancements.

How long will my results last? 

​

Your results on the face lasts for around 3 - 4 months, results on the body to treat excessive sweating lasts 4 - 6 months. We advise all of our clients to have their Bo-tox face treatment done approximately 3 - 4 times a year & body treatment 2 - 3 times a year.

Can this treatment be done on the body & if so which areas?

Yes, we can inject body parts in order to prevent sweating.

The body parts we treat are: 

Underarms (armpits) 

Hands & Feet 

Genital area (vulva which is the outer vagina area)

What can I expect straight after my treatment?

​

Straight after your treatments you can expect redness, mild pinpoint swelling, bruising is unlikely but may occur. All of these initial reactions quickly subside and are nothing to worry about.

What are the possible side affects?

 

If you are worried about the side effects of Bo-tox, then please feel free to book a consultation with us to discuss it further. Some of the side effects which are associated with Bo-tox are short-lived and mild, the most common being mild bruising to the site of the injection. Some clients also get mild headaches shortly after the treatment, but these usually subside within 24 hours, you can also take paracetamol to relieve this.

 

Is it a safe treatment?

 

The Botox solution is injected in very small concentrations, which are not harmful when performed correctly, this treatment has been done for many years. Since their introduction, four decades ago Bo-tox injection treatments have become a very popular to treat fine lines, hyperhidrosis, relax muscles, and achieve different cosmetic results.

Am I too young to have Bo-tox?

​

Botox is approved for clients who are 18 years and older and experts say that those in their mid to late 20s and early 30s are at a good age for preventative Botox treatment

 

Who should not have this treatment done?

 

There is a selection of people who are advised not to have this type of treatment done:

• The injection site is infected

• You're prone to keloid scaring 

• You are allergic to any of the ingredients

• You are pregnant or breastfeeding

• You have a neuromuscular disorder (e.g. myasthenia gravis)

What is the aftercare for this treatment?

AFTERCARE FOR THE FACE 

• Remain upright for 4 hours (do not lay down for 4 hours after treatment)

• When cleansing, avoid pressure and use gentle strokes away from the eyes.

• Avoid facial massages or electrical stimulation of the face for the next 2 weeks.

• Avoid wearing tight caps or garments in the area that has been injected.

• Avoid alcohol, caffeine and exposure to UV and extreme heat i.e. sauna, steam, sun beds, very hot showers, strenuous exercise etc for 24 hours

AFTERCARE FOR THE BODY

• Avoid exercise, hot baths or showers for 24 hours 

• Do not take aspirin or consume alcohol

• Do not apply deodorant or anti-perspirant until the following morning

• Do not rub or massage the treated area

• Do not have any other treatments in the same area for 2 weeks

Who is the Bo-tox treatment suitable for?

Bo-tox injections are suitable for clients who suffer from excessive sweating on their underarms, palms of the hands and soles of the feet. 

 

It is also suitable for clients that wish to reduce the appearance of forehead lines, frown lines or wrinkles around their eyes. Those who wants more of a subtle enhancement compared to fillers, its perfect for those wanting to achieve glowing, radiant and supple skin it also gives a face lift.

 

We are often asked where Bo-tox injections should be applied to reduce the signs of ageing, this is different for every client, however, the most popular places are:

Can I treat my excessive sweating?

​

Bo-tox injections work fantastically well for the excessive sweating of the underarms, vulva, hands or feet in the majority of clients. To ensure the best results in these areas, avoid using any anti-perspirants or applying anything hot on the underarms for 12 hours before and 24 hours after treatment. Please remove the hair in the area a day or two before your treatment.
